Show recap 3/27/09
by Cowfucker on 30 March, 2009
- In a marathon opening break, Ellis, Tully, and The Illusionist compared what each had done the night before: Illusion had played computer games, Tully drank beer and ate chicken and waffles, and Ellis let Mayhem and Chonan sleep over his house, then got kicked, in his own bed, throughout the night, by his daughter. (Advantage: Tully.) Also discussed: "The Warriors," celebrity hair transplants, staph infections, martial arts, Michael Jackson's 50th birthday, and why Slipknot would make an excellent wedding band.
- With the news of a $150 million dollar pot bust, via helicoptor, near Temecula, Ellis got a Canadian helipcoptor fireman named David on the phone, talking about his awesome job. The Illusionist then delivered news of a shark attack, frustrating Ellis with the lack of details regarding an alleged rescue by a gang of dolphins.
- Next up, an email from a listener named Greg, who was shot in Iraq, and then diagnosed with cancer. In a dramatic series of events, Ellis got Greg on the phone, discussing Greg's wish to visit Rehab at the Hard Rock, before he begins chemo. Then, Phil, head man at the Hard Rock, joined the conversation, inviting Greg to visit for Labor Day weekend, VIP style!
- Final Calls focused on Ellis' plans to make his own championship belt, to wear in the hallways the next time he brings the show to New York, looking for any other host who is willing to step to him and challenge his supremacy as the MMA champion of satellite radio!
